SO cool!!

Ok, we have had Karma 2 weeks basically.
And OMG today was AWESOME!
She was sitting in the front of cage(old one as new one is still being put together) and she has been in a pissy pants mood the last couple days, at least her colors are showing that.... so I went to check on her and decided to mist her cage as it was dry and I hadnt done it since early this morning.

She comes down and hangs upside down by the plastic plant that I was spraying and starts drinking. Ends up with me spraying it slowly and softly into her mouth for a minute or so. Then I tell my son to get me the baby syringe in the drawer and I put water in it and she drinks from that!

Which is GREAT if I ever need to medicate her!

Hubby is gonna be SO jealous!

It was a total bonding moment! My kids were enthralled to watch her!

I dont know WHY she was thirsty like that......
I have observed her drinking droplets from the dripper and me misting....
Maybe she just wanted too....
I finally just said enough... didnt want her to float away!LOL

What's the humidity level in her cage and how do you measure it? If a cham drinks heavily every day it could be too dry overall. When a cham is "full" after a long bout of syringe drinking they tend to tip their heads farther and farther up and turn away from the water. they have small stomachs and don't really store water for very long.

It is usually around 50%. Right now since I just misted it and there is excess water from spraying longer than I usually do... its at 60%.
My house is at 45% humidity.
For her cage we have a hydrometer at the top and bottom to measure humidity.

And she started doing that tilting her head back, reminded me of a baby that was done eating and starts to turn their head... which is part of the reason I stopped plus I felt she had enough and was gonna float away!LOL

Wow congrats!! The first time I tried to get Kamish to drink out of a syringe he did it no problem. Ever since he will have nothing to do with it! That is awesome though!
