So, anyone keep invertebrates?

Any bug keepers here? :)

As I said in my Intro thread, I have about 50 tarantulas, 15 scorpions, and ~30 centipedes. For feeders, I also have 3 species of cockroaches. Great investment, and I'm sure larger chameleons would enjoy some of the bigger species.

I'll post some pictures of my collection later, and if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask me! :D

Very cool! I have wanted to get into inverts, but we are not allowed to keep "bugs". The only reason I am allowed to have feeder insects is because they are food and aren't here for more than a day at a time. Silly park rules.

I keep boogs

COOL SPIDERS! The Poecilotheria striata is lovely. That centipede not so much...

I recently got into Tarantulas and I'm really enjoying watching and learning about them. My gals(?) aren't as fancy as yours but I wanted some tamer and less aggressive species to start off with. The Montreal Insect and Reptile Shows are coming up later this month. Any suggestions for a new species for a beginner keeper?

Syn: That's a shame, bugs are a great hobby to get into. Where do you work?

Trace: Grammastola aureostriata has recently been reclassified as "Grammastola pulchripes". The yellow on the legs will become brighter with, age and they can get pretty big. 7-8"+

If you haven't yet, give your B. vagans some substrate to burrow in. :)

If you want to stick with nice and tame, I'd suggest a Brachypelma smithi or emilia, nice showy spiders.

I think, though, that the most docile tarantula I have ever come across the the Eupalaestrus campestratus (Pink Zebra Beauty). Nearly everyone who's kept one can agree that they are teddy bears.

Oh, and I'm not 100% sure on this yet, but I believe there will be an Arachnocon North in Mississauga next year, hosted by http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/ (Been a member since '08 lol). You should definitely try going, there's breeders, raffles, lectures and other Arachno-stuff. (Never went, though. Oh the pain of being too young to drive. D:)

I once really hated spiders.......yuck! Now I just hate them but I can deal with them because my chameleons LOVE them:p

On a side note. Nice pics and the tarantulas do look pretty cool. Just not for me.

After reading that second sentence, I sat there with a gaping mouth..... D:
I guess spiders are not everyone's cup of tea. :p

Here's a video of my P. murinus on a normal day:

LOL! I can only feed off the smaller spiders like wolf, orb weavers, crab, jumping etc, spiders. I keep small species of chameleons so I am sure your tarantulas could devour my chameleons:eek:

Neat vids and I do find the scorpions very cool. The insect and the band:D

Oh, well that's even worse! lol

I'm lucky, even though my mom can't stand my spiders, she'll let me keep them as long as she doesn't see them.
