Snot in poop?

I took my cham in the shower today to get him some humidity after his misting system broke a few days before..(don't buy from LLLreptiles if you want your system to break)
anyway I went in about half an hour after I set him in there on the shower curtain rack... I noticed something that looked like someone had blown their nose on one of the towels and his usual BM on the floor....
does he have a sinus infection? should I take him to the vet?

Are you perhaps over watering him? When is the last time you had a fecal done?

I would not belittle one of the site sponsors.

I don't think I was over watering him because his urate was orange meaning dehydration....I need to create a more humid atmosphere for him

and about the misting system thing I am just frustrated because the first one they sent us did not work and the second one broke only a few months after I bought it....idk what to do about it anymore

Oh I must have misunderstood your post, sorry.

What product were you using specifically?

http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog...s/-/mister-moisture-automatic-misting-system/
I wanted to get the mistking but that was out of my price range....the first pump they sent us didn't work because of the timer being shot...and the second pump broke
anyway any idea what this might be?
my older bro recently had his panther go through surgery to remove the snot bubbles around his eyes due to a sinus infection. I am afraid I might have to do that too unless I can prevent it somehow that's why I'm asking here.

You should have taken a sample of whatever you saw to a vet for culturing. No knowing what it was. If your cham is behaving normally, isn't showing signs of a respiratory infection (these include a lot of sticky saliva in the mouth, dark color, not moving around, eating or drinking, perching with its head tipped straight up, open mouth breathing not while basking, heavily gulping over and over) it might have been nothing.

well the way I have his cage set up is his basking lamp has a vine hanging right beneath it vertically up he normally basks like that.He eats normally I have noticed he is having a harder time than usual swallowing the crickets I feed him(I think its cause he isn't hydrated as well cause of the misting system breaking). my cham seems to like dripping water more than anything to drink from. anyway I can make it so it drops continually cause he normally goes for the dripping water from the top whenever its available

I just held some food out for him he opened his mouth like kind of inhaling a bit or maybe just letting me feed it to him manually

I read some of your previous posts and in one it said you have the cage near the window and that its too cold to open the window...you've been giving him showers and were using a misting system until it broke...you said he may be having trouble swallowing his crickets....there could be a few things going on here.

I doubt that the "snot" you found in the cage indicates a respiratory problem. IMHO it would be a normal mucus that you sometimes would see in with the urates and feces.

I wish I had seen that you were keeping him near the window and showering him....if he's been going to bed damp or getting a draft from the window he could develop a respiratory infection though.

Even though I doubt that the snot has anything to do with where the cage is, I would move the cage away from the window...even if you don't think its drafty there...its one less thing to be concerned about.

I have kept chameleons for many years and never used an automatic misting system and they do fine. I use a dripper and mist the cages to provide water for them. I persist until they drink....which usually isn't hard.

Can you post a picture or two of the chameleon please?

If you are concerned about your chameleon you can always take it to a vet.

not any more I had moved him shortly after I posted that.

I will see about posting a pic here soon,

perching with its head tipped straight up,

I just rearranged my vine set up so it is horizontal to the basking lamp to see if he perches with his head like that

Too much out of the original post can be misunderstood. I don't think I've ever seen significant amounts of "snot" come out of a chameleon's nose. Is it possible someone really did blow their nose in your towel? URI would cause a lot of mucous in the mouth and bubbling slightly from the nose but from that description above, I wonder if it came from his vent instead. Mucous in the fecies is likely a sign of some type of parasitic infection.

Pictures would be helpful.

there is a picture of the "snot" I have no recent pictures of the cham yet because its past his bed time
Is it possible someone really did blow their nose in your towel?
no because I was the only one at home when Kratos was in the shower

yes I suppose he is :) would oyu think I should get one of those drippers at the petstore that you can hang on the cage?

My panther loves his drip system. I have the little dripper and got it from petco. My veiled on the other hand wants nothing to do with it... It doesnt hurt to have it :D
