Sneezes?

Every so often my chameleon does this cute little sneeze and I was wondering why they do that.

Chameleons have a nasal salt gland to allow them to get rid of excess salts. Since it is located just inside the nose they sneeze to forcefully expel the salt secretions so they don't build up. Sneezing is generally not a sign of illness if it is the only symptom.

how do they get excess salt? over supplementing?

The over supplementing thing isn't true. They naturally secrete the salts. Some chameleons just have it build up on their nostrils while others dont. I'm not sure why some have that issue while others dont though. Maybe they don't force it out as much or have more salts than others?
