Smelly Silkworms

Whenever I open the container with my silkworms, I get hit with their terrible smell. Is it normal? I clean the container like every other day, many of them have black stripes on them though, i guess its form waste. Any thoughts, or suggestions... Thanks

I'm not sure what kind of container you have, but I breed my own and they don't smell. The ones with the stripes are female zebra silkworms. The male zebras don't have stripes.

Leave the lid off it gets to humid in for them with a lid on which makes the chow go bad quicker so it all start to stink really quick or if you can't leave the lid off find another way to provide them better air flow

The smell I have is a green smell from the chow. while I don't really like it, it isn't bad by any means.

that is just the way the chow smells. Get used to it! It doesn't bother me but it makes my daughter sick to smell it.
