Your Chameleon - Ambanja Panther,6-7mos,male, Ive had him about 5 mos
The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
Handling - Maybe 1-2 times a week
How often do you handle your chameleon?
Feeding - To help him grow he gets as many dubias as he wants, one gutloaded super a week and I have some silks and horns coming in the next week or so. Tell you the truth my gutloading hasent been top notch in the past couple weeks but I fixed that to day, so bugburger, veggies and some dry dubia food.
What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
Supplements - Repashy all in one, every feeding
What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
Watering - Mist king, more than 4x a day, yes
What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
Fecal Description -Normal poop and no
Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
History - Oliver usually gets about 3hrs of outside time but recently due to mosquito spraying he hasn't been able to go outside for the past 4 weeks
Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?

Where are you geographically located?

I found him asleep at 4pm today. He was at the darkest part of the cage so could it be that the light confuses him? I havent ever seen him asleep at the top of his cage. After I found him I took him outside but only on my hand so he couldnt touch anything out there.......Please help:(:(

Is this the first time he's done this, or has he been sleeping early a lot? I know that my boy Loki(male panther cross) will sleep early if he's had a very active day(like the earliest I've seen him sleep is 3:30 or 4:00 and his lights don't go off until 6:30) But he's normally in sleeping postion an hour before the lights go off any way. I don't worry about it unless his colors don't look good or he's not eating or he looks dehydrated. By all your info it sounds like pretty much everything I do and if he's normally able to go outside and if he's not getting it as normal for his routine maybe this could make him less active? Just a guess, but to me he sounds fine unless there is anything else going on besides him sleeping early. I've only been doing this for eight months though so I'm definitely not an expert, I'm sure others on here with let you know if it sounds like anything is off

I want to say first time, but I think he has done this at least once or twice this week. I know I might be bothering him b/c I get up at 5:30 and I do my best to keep most of the lights out and such, so thats why I just changed his lights to come on at 6:00 instead of 7. He also does the sleeping position thingy too.
Also I just ordered some dinofuel, have you ever used it?

Thank you! Your help is much appreciated

I totally understand the "freak out" when you catch them sleeping early lol I've done it tons of times since I've gotten Loki(he's my first) but now all I do is check everything, make sure it's in range, if he's eating and drinking and looking well, he must be okay right? I know they are good at hiding things but I would keep an eye on him if he's doing this a few times a week and make sure you keep up on gutloading because if he's not getting all his vitamins maybe that could zap some energy? Again, I'm just brain storming for you. Changing the time on his lights will probably help I think :) Again I'm thinking that if his routine of going outside for some sun has been disrupted, maybe that has something to do with it

Anyone else?

I would look up some recent post's on calcium plus being used everyday. After time many are starting to claim issues. Honestly using it daily seems a bit much to me also but i cant say as i have never used it in that fashion. Personally i would change this.

A throw in the dark..
It could be that despite your efforts of trying to not bother him at 5 in the mornin. Maybe he is disrupted and his day is starting then. If he is use to a 12 hour cycle, this could be normal. Was he in his normal sleeping spot?

What sort of cage do you have? I worry about the temperatures. Knowing what cage you have could make me stop worrying.

How are you measuring the temperatures?

My gut feeling is that your overall temperatures are too hot. Because he cannot go to a cool realm to cool down, he's hanging out in the place with the best temperature for him. Normally, he would move between the various temperatures, but I suspect you aren't giving him that range of temperatures to work with.

So using it every day could be the issue? When I took him outside regularly I only used it every other feeding....

2x2x4 All screen cage. The spot where he was was 72 degrees.
A foot below his basking spot is 75...Ill take some more reading now, but what is a good temp gradient

I would definitely not worry about the sleeping early thing. I have seen my Female Panther go to sleep around 4 a few times in the past, and then some nights she will stay up until 9 or later. It just happens. And yes it does freak you out, but your little guy is fine. If he is starting to sleep say around noon I would be a tad worried. Also if he is not eating and tending to be lethargic ( staying in one place all day long ) these are bad signs.
