Sleeping

Fill this out with as much detail as possible and pics of his enclosure from the lights down. If you can take pics of him that can help as well.

veiled, female, I've had her for 4 months and she is about 7 months old

100w, 150w, 16 uvb and 21 uvb. on during the day, off at night

I don't measure the temp. It is next to a window but there is a space heater close by. It is tall and the basking

lamps are on top. She spends an equal amount of time out of basking lamps as in them

I have a humidifier pointed into the cage and I mist the cage 2-3 times per day

No live plants

It is near a vent (the heat is on right now) but the vent is closed so not a lot of air gets through. It is a semi

high traffic area but I live alone and it's not THAT often that I go into the kitchen. (she is next to the kitchen)
The cage is about 3.5 feet above the carpet and is about 3

I live in Kansas City, Missouri. Cold in winter, hot in summer.

I am asking for help because she sleeps 10-14 hours per day. If I turn on the lights before she is ready to wake up, she will go underneath the waterfall, where it is dark for another hour or so. I'm pretty worried. I had this exact same setup and routine with my last chameleon. He died at age 5 and a half. It was a while back but I don't remember him sleeping this much. He pretty much had the same sleep schedule as me I think.

Im not understanding your lighting situation.

But since your enclosure isnt very high and theres not much plant coverage for her to hide . I recommend only having 1 basking lamp. So she can at least move to other side to avoid the heat if she needs to. Its kinda imporatant to keep track of temp. Stick up thermos are super cheap. Should prob just pick 2 up. One for by basking an one near bottom

Is you chams eyes closed at all when lights are on? Or when she hides?

Your lighting as quoted doesn't make much sense.

You don't measure temperature? The most important parameter along with humidity. Surely a thermometer and hydrometer aren't going to break the bank.

Humidifier on but not measured?

The cage top may be 3.5 feet from the carpet but that's far from optimal.

Just from what you've written so far your husbandry is most definitely not ideal.

Please post a completed form and be prepared for changes to put things right. You can find the form here https://www.chameleonforums.com/threads/how-to-ask-for-help.66/

And good pics of the cham, cage interior and lighting will definitely help as well.

Measure temps...

Raise the enclosure off the ground. Chameleons feel safe when they can get away from the ground.

Add more plants and foliage. If you can find the chameleon without trying, your enclosure doesnt have enough plant cover.

You dont mention feeding or supplements? Does she have a laying bin available?
