note to start i have my enclosure in great shape and my male ambilobe has thrived in this environment, but now as he is getting bigger he climbs the screen and gets to the top of his cage and pretty much lets go 5-10 times a day!!! I thought it might be because as he is getting bigger he cant grip the screen very well and his weight makes him fall. i am at a loss buti don't want him to get hurt!!

its a bad habit you need to break him of. a lot of times this is caused by a lack of vegetation/ climbing area in the cage. IE too small only 1 plant ect, but you need to keep him from getting up there

Do you have PLENTY of vines and branches in there for him? Bigger is always better.......free range is even better!

Fill out the how to ask for help form in the Health Section, my internet is really slow today otherwise I'd copy and paste it for you..

Could be early signs of MBD, but it sounds like you need to add more plants.

i have a corn plant dont remember the scientific name of it but i know its acceptable but it is only 2ft tall. and the cage is 2x2x4 i have vines that runto the top and thick branches to climb on. ill post a pic of the cage later tonight
what is ,mbd?

You won't get much help with that attitude.
If you really cared about your chameleon you'd take 5 minutes to fill it out.
You will be asked many times, so why not get it over now? :(

First off, I'd like to ask, why do you have a red light?
Secondly, you need to cover that soil. Your chameleon might want to eat it. Try covering it with smooth, washed, clean river rocks.

Needs more plants. Try getting a large bushy ficus, and maybe a hanging plant like a pothos.
Get more highways around the top of the cage, that's probably why your chameleons is trying to hang upside down.

Where is he falling down to? It really doesn't look like there's much cushion for the poor guy.
Also, I'd sand off those edges on those branches just in case he manages to fall on one of those.
(By the way, I hope you baked them in the oven to get rid of anything nasty that came with them.)

It looks like he's in the living room, from what I can see in the mirror..
You're going to stress him out if there's a lot of traffic.

obviously i am stupid and cannot keep a pet im sorry!!
a he has not fell all the way down. be the branches were frozen then dried before they were put into the cage.
the red light is for nightime heat mainly but i run it sometimes with the other 60 w regular bulb for a little extra heat

ill try covering the soil (good idea but he hasnt tried to eat it.
also he jumps from the same spot everytime to and lands in the same spot pretty much.
i am going to add plants this weekend and vines across the top.
also the being in the living room has not changed his activity or eating (not a lot of stuff going on in my house)
and last but not least i will apologize to you because you answered, but the ego thing in here is horrid sorry but its true i dont like being treated like i am four and if you treat in such a manner i will act accordingly :)

What are your temperatures at, ambient and basking?

What about humidity levels?

We are not treating you like you are 4.
Sure there is a little bit of ego, but we are trying to HELP you.
You really need to change the attitude, PLEASE, if you want some help.

i check temps twice a day but basking spot is between 80-85
lower level in cage 74deg. and between 68-and 75% humidity
nighttime i use the above red bulb the cage stays about 68-70 where he sleeps and its a little warmer towards the top humidity is closer to 65% in the evening.
