Skin discolorment

Hey guys I've had my male veiled chameleon for almost three months and I've noticed that his upper spine has been turning gray and deteriorating minorly. He also has gray spots on his back leg joints. Anyone know what it is?

Looks like the back was burned and tops of knees. What type of lighting do you use where is it located and what bulbs?

Agreed, thermal burns for sure. An adjustment in regards to basking lamp position needs to happen.

Chameleons don't have sensory perception like we do in regards to heat. They will literally burn before moving.

The spine kinda looks like a shed you can see the skin if you look close. Not sure about the knees though.
