Sire to offspring comparison

Is the sire a really good judge of what his babies might look like, or could the babies be a lot brighter and more vivid colors? Or vice versa?

There's a decent resemblance in colors between the two imo. It's hard to say really because it depends on the female too, and it's impossible to tell what she carries unless you see her sire too. Oscar has much more red on him than his sire did. But when he sleeps, or gets really fired up he gets more yellow and orange like his daddy. :)

I think the sire's looks only giving a possible indication. You'd want to also see some brothers to the sire, the mothers brothers and also her sire. And even then, there's no certainty.
