So when I built my enclosure, I completely geeked out. I purchased a herp keeper system and use it to control every element of my habitat except feeding. The system is a little expensive, but easy to use. I set the lighting to my time zone, and it changes sunrise/sunset automatically to match my actual sunrise/sunset times. My lighting comes on and turns off gradually, better simulating natural settings. The temp and humidity also are automatically adjusted per time of year. I like the temp to drop slightly in cooler months, and humidity to drop during this time as well. Granted these are both tiny adjustments that my chameleon may not really notice, but it makes me feel better. Best thing about my system, I've had to move the enclosure twice since set-up(sold/purchased new home), and this brilliant little computer saves all my settings! I just plugged it back in, and it's like nothing changed. Making adjustments is a little tedious, but once you're dialed in, best investment in reptile care I've ever made.
