Silly fun math -how many crickets a year-

so i was just thinking and though i would do some quick math to see how many crickets i go through a year.

So i came up with
Approx 60 a day for my current group. And I dont feed very heavy.
So a week that is 60x7 = 420
A month (30days) 60x30 = 1800
A year 60x365 = 21900

That is without accounting for die of and loss, as well as when the babies are around they eat WAY more..
Not to mention all the worms and other goodies they get.

So
how many do you use?? I would love to see the counts for some people keeping alot of chams.

Well....lol I have:
7 bearded dragons
2 Fat-tail Geckos
1 Water Dragon
5 Chameleons
1 Blue Spot Day Gecko

This is what I am currently feeding. So
I go threw:
136 crickets a day
136 x 7 = 952 crickets per week
136 x 30 = 4080 cricket per month
136 x 365 = 49,640 crickets per year

WOW thats alot of crickets to feed my guys and that doesn't even count the feeders that are offered lol plus our incubating eggs should hatch and add more chams, beardies, fat-tail geckos all to feed as well
Oh and our anoles hatchlings eating FF

4 baby/ juvi 15 to 20 per cham a day
2 adults 5 to 6

daily 92 per day, that is after a 20% die off rate so 114 crickets a day

114 x 798 weekly
798 x 4.3 weeks in a month so 3141.1

Annually 37693.2

average cost of 1000 crickets with overnight shipping $20

3141 x20 that means I kick out about $62,820 WRONG

My cricket bill at the worst may run $300 a month, Guess I am not a math expert or I have no idea what I feed, or that was based on last winter when I had fewer chams & I have 3 more coming in with another 3 to follow those!! I better just forget this whole thing. Now I need a drink. Thank God for coffee.

20% die off?? you gotta change something.. thats super high

as for me, I use a lot of dubias on rotation.. are we including dubias?

I dont know the math, but I use a over 1000 per month (as this is when I buy boxes)-- maybe 1200?

except i'm about to have some babies hatch... and there is going to be another female on the way to my house soon

So glad i did away with crickets aside from once or twice a week for varity..

But i have 3 Chams at the moment.

My 2 Adult Chams eat 3-4 one inch B.dubias daily

The 5 month old eats 4-5 half inch B.dubias daily.

I feed 5 days a week.. So at max it's

13 mixed daily

65 mixed weekly

260 mixed monthly

3,120 anually

Something is wrong.Do I have to include the cost of you bring the crickets to me twice a month? i am almost sure that would up the cost as you do live a couple?? miles from me.

I could send you the 62000 but you have to take David and the 2 dogs. Oh and I get to keep david's salary.
