Silkworms

Hello folks, I'm new to the forums, and a new proud owner of a baby male veiled. I've done plenty of research and feel fit to care for a cham. I've read that crickets are the main diet with occasional worms etc. But I've read silk worms are very healthy as well and I plan on ordering from coastalsilkworms, my question is if they are very nutritional can I feed them very often? More so than crickets or no? And why or why not? I appreciate the Help thanks

I think they are just as good as crickets. I use them about as much as I use crickets. Definitely having a good variety with help keep them eating and healthy, they can become super picky and go on hunger strikes if you always feed them the same thing. Try adding dubia's to the mix as well, they are a good choice as well.

Being a relative newbie to the chameleon owners world I'm not sure I have the "credentials" to answer your question, but from what I have read and understand.....it is VERY important to properly gutload the "staple" insect that you choose to feed. That being said, I'm not sure of what you could feed a silkworm that would make it as good of a choice as say.....crickets or roaches. Some more "experienced" keepers" will chime in I'm sure and correct me if I'm wrong.

if you want something to feed more often may i reccomend calci worms. being what their called i'd say their pritty healthy. still, gutloading and feeding other things is very importent.
