Silkworm sizes?

I'm sticking with crickets for Karma since he never even tries worms, but I heard from his last owner than Mr. Bojangles loves silkworms. I'm going to order a lot, and I've heard they grow fast, but what is a good size to get for my 11 month ambanja panther? I'm ordering from Mulberryfarms. Also, do I need to buy the silkworm chow or is there a cheaper, more available gutload I can give them?

I have been giving L.B. about 1 or 2 a day. I ordered the small sized dish from mulberry farms. You get like 250 baby worms with this although I thought they were a good size for him. Yes they grow fast I have noticed.
Do you have any mulberry trees near you? That is their natural food source. We have a bunch on my college campus I just went out with a bag and took a few (probably should have asked someone....). If you have the money for it, personally I would get the dried chow at least as a back up if nothing else. Personally I didn't.

If you get the smaller sized ones, just make sure you have a good heat source for them, also keep in mind they start cocconing at a month I think so order according to what you think you will use in that time. I ordered a bunch cause they were the same price as the cups, I had a food source here, and because I wanted to try breeding them.

If he's of average size, he should be able to eat large ones. Just use common sense with them and give him what you think he would normally eat.

But don't they have a different fat content than crickets? I've heard some people feed theirs 1-2 silkworms a day, while I feed 15 crickets.

silks have the same fat content or very close to crickets. It is just the size of them compared to a cricket when they are full grown. I would say maybe 3 large crickets equal one large silk in size.
