Sick, or just pissed off?

As most of you know, I have been making lots of changes to KP’s enclosure over the past three weeks of owning him. KP is a 3 month old ish male veiled. He’s been eating fine, pooping every day, unrates are nice and white. But he just never turns that chameleon color. He stays like this pretty much all day every day and he has ever since I got him. And it seems he’s been getting darker, now that i’ve had to take him out several times to change his enclosure to better fit his needs. Now I’m sure this has a lot to do with it, maybe I should have named him something other then Kenny powers (cause I do believe he’s taking on his persona) but every time I get near the enclosure to add food or change something, he turns almost Jett black. Who knows, maybe my little friend is gonna end up hating me for all the added work I had to do with his home. But for peace of mind, does he look sick or is he just mad that I’m a monster invading his personal space?

Do his colors go pale at night when he's sleeping?

Yes he’s the normal chameleon green when lights are out, doesn’t matter if there’s other lights on when his enclosure lights turn off he’s instantly going green then going to sleep.

I think it’s a little bit of both. He spends a lot of time basking. Plus like I said, he’s been in and out of that enclosure so i’m Sure he’s just pissed off, unfortunately lol I would be too I guess. But I was just making sure other then the colors of he looked well.

Are you sure he's a male?? I mean the females are green also. I don't think he is unhealthy looking. It is odd that his coloring is brown all the time though

If he was lethargic, sitting low in the cage, sleeping during the days, eyes sunken in, showing lack of trunkal lifting, etc... then I would wonder but in my experience veiled chameleons look a sickly pale weird green if they show a color change when they are sick.

Mike from FL Chams gaurentees he’s a male, but then again he also told me he was 4 months old last night and I’m not sure if I believe that or not so I’m not sure. Probably wouldn’t hurt to double check lol but I will say he’s green when he’s hiding inside of his pothos, like right now, so maybe it is just something to do with maximumizing basking absorption.

Well so far he shows none of that behavior. He’s quite active when he’s not basking. He basks most of the day when I see him, then during the end of the day stays in the middle of the enclosure where it’s about 77 and hangs out with his green colors. His eyes don’t look sunken in or anything along those lines, he does hug whatever vine he’s on pretty closely and leans to one side but I’m sure that’s because he’s trying to hide.

If its a female are you aware that they can produce eggs without having mated so you need a laying bin??

Okay false alarm, guess every angle I had hid his tiny Spurs but he doea have them. I never looked myself because I just assumed he was already a male, but checked and made sure.
