Sick male panther

I'm sorry for your loss :( I lost a chameleon at an emergency clinic recently and it is really traumatic and very sad.
I hope you feel better soon.

He was one of our first. Having experienced this now I can be more watchful of signs in my other guys. No sign of parasites though which is weird.

sorry for your loss.

what did they say impacted the chameleon?

It turns out he injested a rock from the soil in the hanging potted plant at I just put in the cages. When I got them at Lowe's all of them just had soil. Well I guess a stray rock from one of their other plants they had there got into this one and he ate it. No sooner was I saying that I need to put screen around the bottoms of my plants at the bottom of the cages that this happened. A hard lesson learned.

There is an interesting question. Covering you plant bases?.

I'm sure many of us have seen our panthers chew on stick edges and branches. I wonder if the chameleon purposely ingested the rock. I know Ed and Kammers has also always been aware of the stick chewing behavior in panthers and has never had any confirmed issues as a result. Nor have I. So the question is, did the chameleon do this on purpose. If so, you would think such items would generally be passable.

Ive thought of hat before, ive even considered buying the reptile carpet to cut out and out over the top of the pot but he is an animal not a special needs child. nature has there best interests for them

That's a shame, I'm so sorry for your loss.

There have been reports of wild chameleons having small pebbles in their stomachs to aid in digestion. It is possible that he felt he needed one or two and went for the only one he saw within sight, which might have been too large.
