Sick adopted panther

Thats a small picture, but from what I can tell, I see no signs of MBD. It appears his bones are nice and straight. Could you post a larger picture?

He does, however, appear malnurished and dehydrated. I would focus on getting him hydrated first. Have you given a cham a shower before?

Ya I have just put a plant in a keep the water warm but not hot. Ive done it a few times I can get a better pic. But he seems weak and if you put him on his side it would take him a bit longer to get up implying hes has slow movement now

Hard to tell with the picture. I agree that his bones look pretty nice. He is definitely under weight and looks quite dehydrated. I would make sure you're providing for hydration (Spraying several times/day and have a dripper running.)

Is he eating?

Has he pooped yet? You can tell a lot about health from the feces and Urates.

Definitely fill out the How to ask for help form. it will allow other members to troubleshoot your particular problem

Also if possible a clearer picture would be of assistance.

Keep us posted.

Thanks! My orginal statement is correct... he is very dehydrated. I get a chameleon shower. Basically, put a plant in the shower, direct the water from the shower head toward the wall so the splashback falls on the plant. Then add your chameleon to the plant and supervise to make sure he doesn't fall off.

What do I do for his Mal-nourishment?

He drank last night and I just got done giving him a shower and a drank a little I dont know how much he should have.

He needs to be offered water 4-5 times a day. As much as he wants. If you look at his eyes they are quite sunken. I would keep offering him different feeders and hopefully he will get interested. Give him a few days with lots of fluids . Hopefully he will start to feel more comfortable in his surroundings. Keep his feeders small till he gets established. Silkworms are hydrating.

One of his eyes are still closed but the other looks fine and he drinking a little.

I have almost no experience with chameleons, however I know waxworms are very high in fat, if you could get him eating those, it might help him put on weight quicker.

I have heard of chams going on hunger strike after being too many of these. A few a week is ok but they are very poor nutritionally. It's like being given a diet of mars bars.:D
