Shy chameleon- how much plant cover?

Hi there, I have a shy cb parsons chameleon, He's in a heavily planted viv- for 5 weeks now- he's settling well, eating and drinking- he used to hide behind a stick when I walked near him but now he's pretty good- as long as I walk past and don't make eye contact. Feeding is coming on well but slowly- I can feed from forceps as long as he doesnt see me( he knows I'm there)
Question is now I'm past new viv syndrome, he spends a lot of time hiding- I purposely wanted to make him feel secure and have plenty of secret places to feel comfortable in however should I now begin to spread the plants out or thin them out and gradually encourage more use of slightly more exposed areas of the viv.
A let him be and let him gradually decide at his own speed when he's happier to be seen more or
B do I now begin to sympathetically encourage him to be more exposed and therefore acclimatise more to my presence. If given the choice to hide maybe he'll never get used to me ?

Personally I would go with option A. How fast they begin to tolerate you is highly reliant on the cham himself they are all individual, and deferent. I have had veiled's tolerate me right away, and my current male Jacksons I have had for over a year, and he is still timid around me. Good luck
