Hey guys,
I have had my Cham for about 3 weeks now, he's doin fine, eating, drinking, using the restroom and he just shed like crazy. The thing is he is reallly shy i think, when i open his cage to feed him he turns really dark colors and hides really fast. Also when i am not in the room hes a nice light blue and green and when i walk in my room he turns dark green with blk stripes. I wana hold him to get some sun light, but he freaks out and runs into his hibiscus. Any advise, tips, things to do to make him trust me. i have tried to hand feed him a cricket but he hides on his stick and just looks at me.

Thanks

Have lots of patience and give him some time. Move very slow when you are around him. Try hand feeding him some silkworms. Wear light green colors around him. They seem to like green. When you are around to watch him leave his door open and put a tree in front of it and don't let him see you looking and see if he'll climb out on the tree. Don't rush him and he might come around. Jann

Yes, give it time to really settle in and get used to its surroundings, its new cage and its new owner. Sometimes we forget how frightening we are to them.
If its a young cham especially, it will be more alert to disturbances like you walking into the room etc and naturally more fearful of predators. (unfortunately it still sees you as a very big, possibly cham eating predator :)), it dosent know better yet. :)

my cham doesnt like any color... but i leave the door open and when he comes out, then i try to handle him and hes fine. when im in his space its a different story.

Well, i have been feeding him silks, he wont take one from my hand , but he doesnt really freak out very much if i put my hand in his cage to feed him a silk.
he sure does like the silks tho, ill keep trying to hand feed him tho.
