Hey i just have a couiple questions on showering your chameleon, he does not like it very much when i put him in the shower, i give him a stick to sit on but when i turn the shower on he freaks and goes running, any suggestion as to what i should do bout this?

How near did you put it? It is only lightly supposed to touch them. How warm did you have it? Why were you showering? Was he dehyrated?

I was showering him cuz when i bought him i had deffiently lacked the info on proper care of chameleons so i got on the forum and learned a bunch, and shortly after i bought he was rubbing his eyes alot and keeping them closed so i was told to start misting him and possibly give him showers to help him clean his eyes out... i didnt put the water directly on him just a spray and it was pretty warm, still he freaked out...

when i gave mine a shower i put my scheffelera tree in my shower. now i have the tree outside and i use a rain type end on a waterhose and have it set up to run for 20 min. i will say that the whole tree in the shower would make a mess if i would not of had rocks covering the soil in the pot.

My suggestion is to not shower him.
What kind of lighting are you using?
What lighting was he under before?

Wouldn't the droplet from ordinary shower hose be too large and pointed? I suggest change it to a nozzle to get the best effect. Won't cost much though.

I have only had my Veiled a few weeks but he hates it when I mist. I can mist his plants but he hisses and hides if the spray hits him. Is this something he will get used to or should I always avoid misting him directly?
