Should you be able to see ribs?

She looks underweight to me. MBD, particularly when it affects the mouth, can lead to difficulty feeding. Hopefully, she'll gain weight when you start getting the MBD under control. I would increase the amount you feed slightly too until she's a better weight.
 
Well I did think she was slightyl underweight as I can see her ribs. She is being fed 8/10 day Locusts and 2/3 day Mealworms and occassional Waxworm currently. anuything else to get her weight up. She is eating fine. pooping fine and Urate is white!!
 
I think that you can always see their ribs to some extent. Probably due to the way they are hinged. Lily was quite a big girly (she weighed 200g) and you could still clearly see her ribs when she was out and wandering around.
 
Well I think you are right but with Luna you can see just a little bit to much I think. Hopefully she will be pilling on the pounds soon!!
 
Is she stretched out in that pic?

I know when Peanut is basking or telling me off for moving to quick she stretches herself out (im guessing to make herself look bigger), when she does this her ribs are more visable then normal

I hope all goes well with your little girl :D have you given her a name yet?

I would say no, she isn't stretched out but I cant really tell myself. I am just observing her at the moment and possible in pic I do think she is stretching . Yes we hope so to, we haven't had her long and she seems quite perky in herself eating well pooping fine and urate is white. Her front legs are quite bowed and is currently being treated. Where we got her from didnt look after her correctly!! Yes her name is Luna!!! My BF said Lula one day and I said no its Luna!! She suits it bless her!!

Variety is the key :) Waxworms will help put weight on, but you don't want to feed in excess. Hornworms, silkworms are very good nutritionally(protein, calcium, other good vits.), keep up with the locusts. You can add flying insects in for additioanl variety & treats (house flies, moths, etc.) I wouldn't bother with the mealworms btw.
You don't want to over feed to put the weight on her, it is better to let her gain naturally. If you over feed a female, you will see egg production and larger size clutches of eggs.

We know she has MBD I have added this in my first post, she is being treated also.

PantherCrazy, Thanks for the advise on the feeding and variety we have got some wax worms turning into moths at the moment which we know she loves!! I will keep out the mealworms and give her more variety in other worms!!!
 
That's ok! Glad to help where I can! It took me ages to track down silkworms over here and when I finally got some Lily didn't like them anyway! The Phoenix worms will really help Luna at the moment as they are naturally high in calcium. Don't buy small ones though - they are really tiny even for Amy who is only 4 months old!

Yes I have read they are brilliant for the calcium. I will definately give them ago or try and get them from our pet shop!!
