Should I use 5.0 or 10.0 uvb

I have a 2 1/2 month old panther chameleon in a 24in x 24in x 48in screen enclosure.I am using an 18in reptisun 10.0 uvb bulb passing through a screen but I am wondering if that is too much uvb and if I should switch to the reptisun 5.0 bulb. The reason I went for the 10.0 bulb in the first place is because I heard that the screen blocks up to 50% of the uvb but I’m not exactly sure. I’ve talked to repashy and they said I should switch to the 5.0. What should I do? I want to provide the best care for my chameleon.

I would switch to the 5.0 at that age. You could switch it up later on, but don't have to.

Just raise the 10.0 about 3 to 4 inches above the screen. No need to go buy a 5.0 if the 10.0 is still in perfect shape. Unless you have other reptiles that can benefit from 10.0, I would just raise the bulb a few inches away. 1 inch changes the intensity of the uvb a lot at around the 7 8 9 10 inch range
