Hello i am about to purchase a veiled chameleon but the man i am purchasing it from says he has never handled it at all i appreciate that chameleons are more pets to admire such as fish but should i still get it will it be a really angry chameleon?

most likely yes and depending on how long it has not been handled, well the longer not handled the worse for you. If you are looking for a chameleon to handle I would suggest getting a baby and working with it while it is maturing. If you don't mind never being able to handle the chameleon, then go for it. Please be aware that some of the mean ones, bite, gape, hiss and lunge also so you may have to deal with that.

patience

Have patience too. I have a lil fella that I bought back in September and the guy lunges, hisses at me whenever he has the chance. He runs from me when I try to get him to bring him out. I now use a glove to do this. Once I have him outside of his enclosure though, it's all good. It's almost like he doesn't want me in his space, but once he is out, no problems. Just gotta have plenty of patience with the fellas, but like the others have said, sometimes they just never come around.

The chameleon is just under a year old would i be able to change him if he is still maturing?

He would of already reached sexual maturity, but will still shed because he's still growing. They always grow, just becomes slower with age. If you feel comfortable with a highly aggresive chameleon, go for it. If not, try something. But there are some that will always be mean, no matter how going they're bought. It's basically a big game of luck.
