I read that article a few months ago, it's insane! If I remember correctly researchers just started noticing it because they would go through and either see ALL adults, ALL babies, or none.... so strange to live well over 50% of your life in an egg. Another thing too, I would expect a species with such a short lifespan to be smaller

Apparently they grow at a phenomenal rate! This species should be considered extremely endangered given its location and the fact that the entire species is at one time of year, only represented by buried eggs!
A disaster could wipe them out!

I personally thinks their short lifespan is tragic. What an exquisite looking chameleon, surely one of the most beautiful of all the species.
