Shipping Help

So I'm wondering if anyone can give me advice on shipping. I might end up shipping an adult Chameleon here very soon. I'm not even sure where to start. I'm most likely going to be walked through this, but I figured I would make a post and see what everyone has to say.

Where would I go about getting the shipping supplies? I have boxes and deli cups from receiving my other animals, but they are much too tiny for him. What would be the safest, most cost effective way to ship this Chameleon? How does one go about the payment aspect of shipping? The reptile in question is being adopted, so the only money involved will be going towards the shipment. This would be my first time shipping an animal, and an adult one at that. So I'm quite worried. The hardest part might be getting him in the box without having him putting up a fight. Chameleon's don't necessarily enjoy being put into enclosed spaces.

Any advice at all is helpful. Even for the questions I haven't asked. This post would be a mile long if I kept going, so I'm going to stop here.

Thanks crossfire. I read through the site earlier today. I wasn't sure if that was the way to go or not.

If someone has used the site, how exactly does the process work? I'm the kind of person who likes to have a step-by-step. I'm way too organized. Sorry for being a noob.

Just looking at the site, they have "kits" you can purchase that will give you everything you need.

Somewhere, a couple of years ago, one of the posters here showed how she packed a chameleon baby for shipment (I want to say it was Jann B).

Based on what I've read here, the best piece of advice might be: do not have it shipped to home, have it held at the office for pick up. That means he doesn't ride around in the hot truck all day and there's no chance the driver will toss him over a fence or leave him on a doorstep.

Thank you all! I'm getting right on that thread Jann. And thanks for the tip on the trucks. I'm so busy worrying about how to get started, that I totally forgot about that. My dad works at FedEx.. and I'm pretty sure he told me you HAVE to request them to hold it. So I'll make sure to do that. You guys are a big help.
