i've only had this pygmy cham for 4 days she is already laying eggs! how do i incubate the eggs? does the mom need anything special? help!!

Use vermiculite (my preference) or perlite, not dirt. You can wait to dig the eggs up until you can get the proper substrate for the eggs.

My pygmy chameleon laid eggs(just got them today) i had no dirt in the terrarium so they have a "carpet" at the bottom.I want to try to hatch the eggs but I have no dirt what can i put the eggs in? plant soil? bark? dirt from outside? styrofoam? anything i just want to hatch them!

Focus on learning more about pygmies and getting your rescues back into tiptop shape. A rescue cham is a worthy undertaking, but a big responsibility. If you aren't sure the eggs are even fertile and don't have your terrariums in place, give this batch a pass and get everything settled. You'll have plenty of opportunity in the future with well fed, healthy pygs. That's the way to go, in my opinion.

As for hatching pyg eggs, I'm sure there have been posts in the past on this topic. You'll have to do a search and a lot of reading.

If you put them on soil its very difficult to keep the humidity right even for a short time. If it's too moist they may take on too much fliud or rot and if it's too dry they will shrivel up.

Trying to figure something out....you need to do something asap.
If you have nothing else i guess all you can do is try the soil. Don't make it wet like mud....just slightly moist. Put it in a deli container so the container is about half full...put tiny dents in the moist soil and lay the eggs in the dents without rotating/turning them from the way they are laying in the cage and put the lid on the container. I would move them with a plastic spoon. Put the container somewhere that the temperature is what the article says that I already sent you the link to....in a dark place. Get vermiculite or pearlite asap.

When can you get vermiculite or pearlized? Another thing you can use is hatchrite.

You are having quite the adventure!

The most important thing right now, absolutely critical, is to support the female and get her lots of calcium, water and food. This is critical.

Go to a garden center and buy either vermiculite or perlite. These are both additives to soil. Perlite might be easier to find. You need to mix water with the dry medium but not have it too wet. I don't know what the ratio of water to perlite is but if you look through this web site, you should be able to find it. Put the wet hatching medium in a plastic container--Tupperware or a deli cup. Make little dents in the medium and put the eggs in the dents without rotating them. Then just close up the container. You don't need holes. Put them in a place where they will incubate at the correct temperature.

Vermiculite (don't know about perlite) has some anti-bacterial qualities. Dirt most certainly doesn't.

You mention that you have a "real" incubator--what exactly do you have?

Don't be surprised if the eggs don't hatch.
