Shedding

My Panther is shedding in sections now. First it was around his eyes, than head, then his spine. Then his foot and leg, my question is.. along his spine it doesn't seem to be completing the shed as quickly as the other body sections? It looks like all his various colors combined along the spine in a multicolored/ white shedding line. He is not eating as much as usual. How long should one section take to completely shed?

How old is he?
As they get older they tend to shed in sections.

When they shed, they dont always eat as much, so its normal.

ok then the way he is shedding is normal.

it can seem like they are always in a constant state of shed.

All the previous parts have shed and gone. The spine is much slower than the other parts. He is still taking water but this is the second day with no feces. He usually goes every day. He is not eating his super worms, normally wacks out two or three + crickets I think he is only eating a few crickets. I guess I can wait a couple of more days.

yea try a warm shower.
when my guy hit that age, he stopped eating every day, so that might have something to do with it.

Thats a good idea, I have also been letting him outside to get some direct sun. I have been taking him outside for an hr or so a day on hot days since I first got him. he loves hanging out in the fresh air and sunshine. It seems like it would always transition him into a shed shortly after his sunbathing. I appreciate all your info.

very welcome!

you may want to start feedin ghim every other day now if he wont eat all the time.

I will see what happens in the next two days. I am keeping a closer eye on him. I think the shedding spine is having an effect, is still in shed. The face and head went quickly, it looks like his foot and leg are complete (one one side). Maybe he is miserable, lol. I appreciate all you suggestions.

My one year old cham is in the middle of a shed now and he has been absolutely miserable for about four days now. Hasn't eaten but one thing maybe every other day and he just sits looking miserable most of the time. I feel so bad for him. He is usually so active. I mist him every morning before work with nice warm water which he loves.

Melvin was doing much better today. I always mist him twice a day and use a dripper in between. I also mist and wait until he starts lapping, but yesterday he sat on his perch licking his screen while I misted for about 20 minutes. He thinks I am his personal water fountain! Thats the longest I have ever watched him drink. I think the shedding had him off his game and he was dehydrated. He has started shedding on his 3rd and 4th foot, but the shed down the spine seems to be getting smaller. It has been down his spine while the other sections come and go. Hopefully it will be complete in a few more days.:)
