while growing...once every 2 to 3 weeks...and when done growing once a month or so.

Once they reach adulthood they shed in sections over a longer period. Once adult their growth rate slows right down. Lily used to shed every 3 months from 6 months of age. It took several days shedding a bit at a time. Amy is between 4 and 5 months old and the first (and only) shed she has had with me was all over in less than 12 hours. They just seem to pop the skin off as babies!
