Shedding?

how much should a female veiled actually shed? Just out of curiosity. Or does it just depend on each chameleon?

They shed more often when babies - every couple of weeks or so I think. Amy/Amos shed last Thursday so I'm counting the days til the next one! Once their growth slows down after a year the shedding slows too. They may also shed in sections as adults too, so maybe head one week followed by legs, body, etc the next.

I was wondering a bit cos Tilly has shed about 4 times since we had her. She shed again two days ago and she's was so grumpy. But it's funny to see hehe.

Peanut is shedding now!... I was so worried about her yesterday... she was grumpy and off her food, i'm so glad there was a reason for it now.

As babies they shed so quick too, blink and you can miss it, hehe. This time around she is taking her time, its currently coming off her head.

Hope you dont mind me adding a question to you thread.

Do chameleons tend to drink more when the shed?
I reckon Peanut would have taken the misting bottle out of my hand this morning and done it herself if she could!

I'm not really sure. Tilly didn't seem to drink more but it's his and miss with her one day you'll catch her drinking then then not again for ages.

She started shedding on her head a little then we went away came back in about an hour and her whole body has started shedding it was freaky. She was rubbing herself on a stick!! Haha
