Shedding

I am wondering what are some reasons for a chameleon to not shed properly? My male jackson who is 4 months now is just shedding on his head, for the last 2 days. When i had him in his smaller cage he would shed completely in like 12 hours. I have also noticed he is kind of dull in color not really bright like he normally is.

I no that dull color can be from lack of proper lighting but he has two 18" uvb bulbs. One being a 5.0 and the other is a super uv.

I'm not sure if Jackson's are like Veileds but my veileds use to do a complete shed when they were younger but now that they are older they shed in sections and I had several forum members tell me this was completely normal. Jann

Sometimes shedding issues are related to humidty, or vitamin deficiency, or even fungal infections. Probably it is none of these for your chameleon and its just only needing to shed partially. At four months my panthers would usually shed completely, but as adults they do sometimes shed in sections.

I agree with Jan....More than like the reason for the dull color is because he is ready to shed.

My jacksons shed in areas now and they are about 1.5 to 2 years old...
