Mist him/her with warm water, and let nature take it's place.

Like brownie said mist n mist again,when the cham dry under the heat lamp ,their skin will start peeling even more ,then u mist n repeat till its all gone,older cham can shed slowly unlike the younger ones.

Yes u can,and like brownie told u warm water so the cham wont be shock by the cold water n dislike the water more.

It will happen sometime ,when the cham trying to bite it off its own shed since it might be uncomfortable for them,as long the shed is not contaminated with dirt or poops,it should be fine.
