Shedding Trouble

Hi, my 2 and half month old vieled chameleon just shed today.
He was on the ceiling under the basking lamp black. I was wondering if it was because he was cold.

I will post pictures and fill out the ask for help form soon, but I just wanted to get this post out there.

And what is the trouble? ;)

When chameleons are shedding, i suggest you raise just a little bit the temperature, maybe by one or two degrees. However, since your chameleon already did it by climbing on the ceiling, you don't have to do it, otherwise you could burn him.

Another thing to make shedding easier is cutting the humidity/misting if you can, just for one day. However, don't do that if you do not own any live plants, because you probably won't have the proper minimum humidity level.

Current Problem - He shed for the first time in my care today. He was bright green after the shed. I left for a half hour and came back, he was on the roof under the basking lamp dark brown. When I came in the room he got off of the roof. He came down and turned back bright green. I just want to make sure hes not cold.

Pictures sooon!

He looks good! I remeber when Jasper was that big! Is your lamp in the top of the cage or is it above the cage?

Its on top of the cage. I couldnt get it hot enough clamped. What bulb do you recommend?

I am using a 40watt bulb with my baby panther and a 60watt for Jasper who is a 7.5 month old veiled.

The 40watt gets it steady 82 basking but the basking spot is around 8 inches from the light...

Oh he is under the UVB light not the heat light? Jasper did that all the time... He still will do that evey now and then... Being that close to the fluorescent light it will not hurt him... Chams will tend to be a lil darker in their cages... I would not worry to much about it.

Just a follow up, he has been hanging out on the screen and being dark dark brown. He is not under the light so I presume he is not cold. Whats wrong? Is a vet visit in order?
