my 1 1/2 - 2 yr old vieled has been shedding constantly. i mean as soon as he finishes a shed he goes right back into another shed. any reason for this? he has had a pretty rough life up to this point. when i got him he came with mbd and was near death but is recovering amazingly well. i dont want to jinx anything but would like to know if any others have had chams that shed like this.

Wow, that is rather strange for an adult. A baby I could maybe see and that would even be alot. So like how much time between sheds would you say. My cham is 11 mos old and has not shed in two months!!! I certainly do not have an explanation, but maybe someone here on the forum does!

Has he also put on weight? Is he shedding full-body, or in sucessive sections?
Could be the improved care is allowing him to fill out, thus needing new skin.

he has double if not tripled his weight... so maybe it is because he is getting fat? LOL i would think he would still shed normally. it does take about a few days to do a full shed and literally within a day or so he is shedding again. idk

Sounds good, hes trying to pack on the weight he lost and is shedding because he's getting bigger :p Shedding is never really a bad sign

Hi am new on here just got my first chameleon and had a similar question mine is doing the same thing . When I got him he was really dark but over the past week he has lightened up now he is shedding again within a couple of days of the last he has eaten quite a lot though .

I don't know if anyone can explain why. I have always thought because they are growing. My 15 month old panther shed his feet and legs about 2 weeks ago and just did it again! They do not shed so often as adults. I think if they are healthy and eating and drinking normally then there is nothing to worry about.
