Shedding questions

Once a Cham starts to shed how long does it usually take to get it all off? I think mine started to shed on Tuesday or Wednesday and his head shed pretty much came off but his eyes and one little chunk are still there.

Should I still feed him while he is shedding?

At what he do they start only shedding in parts and not the whole body? He is only about a year old but it looks like he is only gonna shed his head area right now.

He is usually at the top of his tree but as the shedding has been going on he has been spending more time lower in the tree. Is this normal? Right now he is just sitting in the plant pot and he has never done this before.

Is it ok to do extra listings and mist him directly? I have been doing so. He doesn't like it when I must him directly either.

Seems to me that the humidty needs to be raised to aid in shedding, and no ive never seen 1 just sit like that, id mist enclosure 3 or 4 times a day for a short period each time and see if that helps, as yes of course feed him while hes shedding

Ahh he is gorgeous. Spray him a lot more with warm water. He is probably irritated by the shed on his eyes. You could take a q tip and warm water and gently rub it. Don't be tempted to pull it off though. He will probably not eat as much as usual whilst shedding but offer him food.

Over the past 2 maybe 3 days I saw my guy getting pretty faded, I could see the white casque build up. I've never seen a chameleon shed in person, 100 snakes 1 million times but never a chameleon.

It took him about 4 hours and me misting every hour with warm water to pop it all off. It was really cool to watch, he's only 4 months old so he had a full body shed. Everything cracked and it started, his body came all off, then his legs. He wrapped his tail around the vines and rubbed his face ALL over the vines and it came off great. It was a cool first time experience. He looks great too!

Glad to see your guy shed with no problem. I love the eyes coming off the best!

I've always known the eyes to come off by themselves, but you might want to watch for an eye infection if it stays on there too long. Not positive, but it would be something I might look to make sure doesn't start. You can lightly spray above him letting mist come into his eyes to wash them out. Don't do it too much though. The main thing is to make sure you don't irritate the skin.

His eyes and the one spot still haven't shed. I have been misting him tons but he still hasn't tried to get off the eyes. I don't really know what to do. I am worried about trying to rub them with a q-tip becuase I really don't want to damage his eyes.

he'll get it off when he wants. hes fine.

can you post a photo of him from teh side though> Id like to see his full body, legs and all.

How long would be too long, for him trying to get them off? It's been a week now. He got the rest of the head shed off but the eyes and one little patch on the head have been there ever since.

Here are te shots of his body. If you need a better angle let me know. He is just in a container I put him in for a bit to really get the humidity up around him. He was in it about a half hour. Wasn't sure if it would work for him but I know it could sometimes help snakes get stuck shed off so I thought I'd try.

I did try using a wet q tip just before the photo but it didn't get them off. It more just let the losse skin cover his eyes.

Ok he looks fine. the angle of your other pics made a back leg look weird.
I would just try a daily warm shower, and mist his cage alot.

it will come off over time.
as they get older, it takes them longer to shed.

Are you able to give me an approximate on how long it could take just so I don't have to worry. Could it be another week, 2, a month?

And he is only about 12 months old. Is that actually considered an older chameleon?
