If the female can see the male that's why she's angry....shes telling him shes gravid and to stay away. By doing that you're putting unnecessary stress on her. I would make sure she can't see him until she's done laying. The more you stress her out by that and by moving her around and weighing her and so on the less likely the egglaying is to go well IMHO. Feed her and water her and leave her alone please.
