Sexing my panther.

Hey guys,
I was wondering how old my red bar panther chameleon will have to be in order for me to sex it. I know I have to wait for the hemipenis to become visible, but I just need to know when. It is about 6 weeks old now. If anyone could help me with sexing this little "guy", please let me know! I've never owned a panther before so I can't base how thick its tail base or anything is.

Im not a sexing expert AT ALL but Im going to take a crack
at it before a expert steps in :)
But my guess using Heathers link is a MALE :D

Have you got any more clear pictures and bit more close up?

When i got my panther @ just under 10 weeks the breeder was certain it was a male.

when i posted up pictures on another forum some people said it was female due to lack of lump, pale colours i thought it was, some thought it was a Male, so i was not to sure what it was, but trusted the guy i got him from,

The breeder was 100% correct it was a male, sometimes its hard to get a clear shot of the tail base at that age,

Here is the thread it might help compare yours

Pics are a blurry. You should try to get more clearer ones so we can give you a more accurate answer. He/she's a cutie though :)

Awww shucks! I know you guys think differently, but I really just don't want to put time and money into a female. I guess I'll let it grow a little then trade it to someone for a mate. Then get a sure-thing boy out of the egg. Does that sound possible?

I don't have privleges to post in the "for sale" part of the site, but I'd like to know of anyone is interested in a trade. This cute little girl plus 100 for a juvenile male red bar, or plus 200 for a blue bar. Or just give me some offers, I'd just like to see what I can get for her. She comes from an absolutely beautiful bloodline and both the sire and the dam were sold for around 500 each.

Sorry you didnt get what ya wanted. But at least my sexing abilities are getting better and better. lol She is a cutie, I'd keep her and and just get her a nice looking bf.

Nah I'm not looking to breed. I'm going to sell her to the local reptile shop for about 125 and then buy a male blue-bar from Ray (red island). I just spoke to him and confirmed it, I'm very excited.
