Setting up a new cage

Im setting up my new cage for the female panther i own finally and is it ok to leave the bucket of play sand in the cage just incase she does decide to lay eggs sometime soon and would it make it more difficult for her to find her food ?

I keep Lily's in her cage all the time. I have it towards the back corner. There is a vine I have stuck in the sand mixture that comes off of her plants.

She can get in or out of it. She did lay one clutch in there, but when she is cruising her cage sometimes I see her doing the rim of the bin then using the vine and going up. she knows it is part of her cage and what its for. IMO better to have them use to it prior to needing it.

Our first clutch (knock on wood) went like clockwork

ok suhweet and thats awesome ya im putting her in a much bigger cage then she's in now and im expecting a new panther chameleon hopefully this week just trying to set up both cages so that when he gets here itll be all set up and i can put him right in but she needed a bigger cage as well

Not really. I usually put it in the plant, just under the canopy. I never left it in there, because I never secured it, and knew that with my luck it would mess up and then it would just go wrong.

ah i see ya i put it in the back towards the bottom i attached it with plant wire i think its called it has some material over it so it isnt just metal and its very thing so my 2 thermometers that i have and the hydrometer are in there i just wasnt sure exactly where to put it ty very much tho =D

It can matter where you put your hydrometer. If you had a unit that measured humidity and temps on the same unit. For example. I have one of those and had it in the basking spot to get the basking temps. It read that my humidity was low. Then i moved it in the middle of the cage and my humidity levels were WAY higher.
