Setting In Behavior?

I just recently got a year old male veiled chameleon. He's a pretty good sized bloke and I was very excited to purchase him.
However, when I met up with the previous owners to get him, they had him shoved in a small Tupperware container. He couldn't even straighten out all the way. I'm assuming it was for the transport because they also gave me his cage and accessories.
Anyway, once I hurried him back to my house and set up all of his stuff, the cage and lights and made sure the humidity was acceptable, I gave him time to settle in. Later I went to see if he was hungry and was met with a barrage of hisses and aggressive behavior.

Bottom line is that it's been several days now. He won't eat, whether I hand feed him or let the crickets go free-range in the cage.

Info:
He's a year-old veiled male. I'm not sure of the dimensions of his cage, but it's one of those mesh ones and it's plenty big enough for him. I've only been trying to feed him appropriately sized crickets so far. He has a water drip but I haven't seen him drink from it. I mist his cage twice a day. He's in a quiet corner of my apartment where there's little activity so he's not disturbed. I haven't tried to handle him since he's hostile almost as soon as I open the cage.

So is this behavior still just him settling in? Will it mellow or do you think he's just an aggressive individual? Or could it have anything to do with his past owners providing him poor care or socialization?

We've been calling him Angry Lizard or AL for short. (Hope the image works)

Haha well that's ok, I don't need him to be my best friend. Is there anyway I can make him more comfortable while he's settling in? And do you have any idea when he'll start eating?
