senegal drinking

I made a drip system in my senegal's cage that consists of a coffee cup with holes on the bottom and a bowl to collect the water once it falls, today my senegal stuck his head in the water and took a long drink, is this okay?

How long had the water been collecting, less than a day? If the water had not been sitting there collecting in the bowl for too long it should not be a problem as bacteria would have not been able to build up yet.

I second Symibiot...... not a problem so long as the standing water has not had time to stagnante and build up bacteria.

It was dripping for literally a minute!

Is your dripper dripping onto something that he can drink off of like leaves? Or is it dripping directly into a bowl?

It's dripping on some leaves that he has drunk from before, he just made a lunge at the bowl, and started drinking!
