Do chameleons smell? if they smell anything like a hamster i dont think i want one? do they pee and poop alot, how often do you gotta change the sand?

What sand are you talking about? No they don't smell at all, and every 1-2 days easy to clean up their urate comes out same time as their poop in same consistency.

Nope, no smell.
My cham dueces/urinates about once/twice a day.
No idea about the drying of sand (assuming its for a laying bin). I do know you have to keep it somewhat moist, but also want to prevent the growth of bacteria.

Mine don't smell anything like a hampster.
I don't use anything on the enclosure floor. As I see pee or poop on the floor or on a branch or plant I simply take a damp paper towel and wipe it daily.

I keep my cage floors bare, it makes it easier to pick up stuff and take a damp cloth and wipe it clean. I hate having papers on the floor of the cage and feel it sounds like a worse idea than having substrate, since they may stick their tongue to the sheet, and it seems harder to get the sheet out of your mouth. Paper towel doesn't dissolve in the gut (trust me, my dog's pooped out whole sheets that look completely intact) and newspaper is full of ink. So I opt for bare.

No, chameleons don't stink. Other reptiles' poop smells a lot but chameleons don't really smell. I know when my roommate's bearded dragons pooped outside of the cage it would clear the room, but I've had chameleons poop in a small cage in a car and you can't tell.
