Seeing each other?

Hi, I have a 1 year old very healthy female panther chameleon, (Rosy) a 2 year old very healthy panther male. (Max) I have been reading everything on breeding and have a question. What is your opinion on letting them see each other in separate cages for awhile before the breeding? I have taken her by hand to him just to say “hi” she stayed a nice normal color. Looked a bit nervous though.
I’m pretty sure if he sees her he is gonna be very excited and want to get to her. Will this cause him unnecessary stress? Any input will be much appreciated.

You'd be risking stressing out the female by putting the cages right next to eachother and then seeing eachother for long periods. My understanding and from what I've read most people take the male out and let the female see the male outside her enclosure first to see if she is indeed receptive to breeding and or receptive to him. In nature females get to choose their mates. However this is not the case in breeding programs. So sometimes it takes awhile for that female to warm up to the male so to speak. Take everything in saying with a pinch of salt though. I'm still learning myself and I'm not a breeder currently.

I think i read @Matt Vanilla Gorilla saying her seeing him more often may cause her to clutch more frequently. Please correct me if I am wrong.
You are correct! A female can get pregnant by merely seeing a Male. A breeder can induce ovulation for breeding/controll a females cycle by keeping her from seeing males and letting her see males at different times of the year.

Sometimes I think homosapiens are the same way lol.
Hmm maybe I should but Larry and Imelda in different rooms. Good knowledge thanks Matt
A divider should work.

I merely keep a background in between the enclosures. I've noticed that my male is more interested in the females when he hasn't seen them. If they don't mate, I wait a couple weeks and reintroduce them. I also watch for any stress affecting the female. My jackson's will turn dark and rock back and forth trying to knock him off the branch. I actually have some funny pictures of when the male was young, thinking he's a ladies man.
