screen mesh

I was wondering if someone could tell me what mesh is good for a screened enclosure. I am building an enclosure from bookshelves. I want something sturdy, but I want to see the chameleon well. Sorry if this is in the wrong spot. I am new.

I heard window screen is good, but I've never tried it. Make sure you have the proper drainage, etc.

I used black aluminum screen from lowes. I bought the 4 ft x 20 ft roll for I want to say either $27 or $37. Give me a few and I'll try to get you a pic of what it looks like from 17 ft away zoomed in lol.

This from when I was setting Blue's cage up. Gives a nice idea on open vs closed clarity. It was only about 12 ft his cage in this shot though. I can't find the one I was looking for atm, sorry for that part.

When we began housing our veiled chameleon in a screen mesh cage, we ran into this thing where he seemed to prefer climbing all over the screens versus his vines / plants (he'd even hang from the ceiling for length). I'm not sure if it was because of his size or the mesh size, but he pulled out quite a few of his toe nails, poor guy :( We immediately lined his cage with 1x1 cm weather coated garden fencing - it worked like a dream. Now he can climb all over, no problem. Not saying you'll run into the same issue, but something to be mindful of! (y)

Thanks! I like your enclosure also.

Thanks, we are actually looking at redoing it already after a couple of months lol. I'm thinking about splitting the two hanging planters and hanging them one on each end instead of 1 solid across the back. We are also thinking of changing the schefflera arboricola for schefflera amate in Blue's enclosure if we do split those planters back apart.
