Schistocerca Nitens Babies Hatching

Motherlode Chameleon

Chameleon Enthusiast
I had a lot of mating from my adult brood stock Schistocerca nitens colony this summer. However I did not observe much laying from the females. Great news anyways though first instar green nypmh Schistocerca nitens began to hatch and emerge last weekend. These are some photo's of some of the newly emerged green nymphs.

Thanks! I'm happy to have some hatching out. I am keeping the Reptile/Aquarium room on the cool side because of my montane chameleons. However I think I would have more productivity from my grasshopper colonies with a hotter temperatures in the Reptile/Aquarium room. I have got to make arrangements somehow!

Crickets have ruined me for anything that hops, but those babies are so darned adorable!

Cricket are kind of terrible. Especially a lone loose one in the house that you cannot find. Baby Schistocerca are neat. However some of these Schistocerca adults are really neat too. When you have the opertunity have a look at images of Schistocerca lineata and shoshone.
