Saying Goodbye to Max, my first chameleon.

Hello everyone.

I am sad to say that I took my baby boy to the vet today, only faced with the difficult decision to relieve his pain. His health had plummeted within a day and a half. The doctor was stumped as to what could be harming him - she could only speculate. I am so very happy that I found such a caring doctor on such short notice (my usual vet would not be in until tomorrow).

After a long conversation and careful thinking, I made the hard decision to leave him in her caring hands. He isn't hurting anymore from whatever it was that took him from me.

He was my first chameleon. I know many of you feel the sting of loss like I do. I will miss him so very much.

If you have purchased the Chameleon Forums member calendar, you will be able to see him for all of the month of March.

I would like to extend my thanks to all of the forum members that have helped me through Max's life. He was not a young chameleon by any means, and I have the forum to thank for that.

He was my first chameleon, but he will not be my last. Thanks for the wonderful time, Maximus.

I am so sorry that Max has left you. It's a heart breaking experience to have to say good bye. You have my condolences. I will be admiring your handsome Max the entire month of March.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Max was a very beautiful boy! I am sure he will be missed very much.

RIP max, sorry for your loss.
I'm glad you are going to get another, this shows you truly cared about him. It's really amazing at how quickly their health can change. My first Cham showed symptoms one day and was gone three days later. Sad

I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a beautiful boy, and will be missed. You gave him a wonderful life. I hope the good times you had with him help you through this. It's so hard to let them go. :(

He was a beautiful Jax, and looked well-loved. You made the hard choice, which is never easy, but always in the best interest of the animal. I'll enjoy him all March as well.

What a great "first chameleon"! He was beautiful.

That is very true! Sorry to hear of your loss. Thanks for giving him great care and providing us with some great pics! It is never an easy choice. RIP little one. :( You will be missed.

Oh no! I am so sad to read that you lost Max. Jacksons are the sweetest, gentlest chams you can find. Even though I have lost 3 Veileds before and know what an awful experience it is, I cannot even begin to imagine the sadness at losing a precious Jackson. Sleep tight Max. :( Thinking of you xx

I am so sorry for your loss. He was a very beautiful Jackson's. It sucks losing these guys. They really do become a part of the family.
