Sappho's Digs

Hey there everyone. I bought a 6 month old Yemen with enclosure a few days ago, and I'm wondering if the current cage/location is suitable. She doesn't seem stressed as far as I can tell, and this room is very low-traffic, but I'm still a bit unsure.

Looks good for now!

One suggestion: Buy some flexible branches from your pet store (like petco) and put them in there for some more climbing areas. The chameleon would probably like more to climb on, since you don't have that many branches in there. :)

Your cage will become too small for the chameleon in time, so be sure to upgrade to a larger screen cage as she/he grows.

Thnx for the help. I'll install a few more branches very soon! Too bad I have to take up the pet store's slack though. *grumbles*

Also, while Sappho's cage has a nice view of the outdoors, there are a lot of crows flying around in the woods. While they don't exactly come close to the window and peer in like some serial killer, I'm also aware that crows/ravens prey on chams in the wild. Is it possible seeing or hearing them might upset her?

You can use branches from outside too, and place them vertically and horizontally throughout. Just make sure you clean them.

More foliage would make her much happier too. Pothos are very easy to care for, and make great vines.

Fun with twigs and twist ties!

Okay, after collecting some twigs and small branches, cutting them to length, running them under hot water, and breaking out some twist ties, I've just gotten done doing some home improvements on Sappho's cage. I'm going to get some fake plants later for more cover. Here are the results. I just hope I didn't upset her too badly. :(

Could not view the last pic. My suggestion would be like the others said and also make sure you have a branch under the basking light about 8 inches down or so. In the first pic, there is no where for him to bask under the light.
