Safe to be wet.

I looked through this forum and can't get a solid answer and my paranoia always gets the best of me so I double check! haha

I recently got a raindome from aquazamp. My panther chameleon loves it... He sits under it the whole time its on literally drenching himself like a carwash haha. I have it on for 3 minutes 4 times a day.

Is it okay for my chameleon to get this wet? If there are chameleons out there scared of the mist, mine is the complete opposite.

---Many thanks to various members on this forum, I've learned so much about caring for my chams from you guys!

I asked my vet this very question because my panther is the exact same way. I have a Mist King and he literally "stands" in front of the spray. He told me that as long as there is an area that he can get out of the mist if he wanted to (my basking area is completely dry) and I let the cage dry out between mistings it is completely fine.

Thanks, yes I was a bit worried because he lets himself stay wet, he doesn't rush for the basking site right after. I thought it would make him freezing being cold blooded but hey I could be wrong.

I was going to say the same thing kate

They get rained on for hours at a time in the wild,, last time i checked, they wouldnt melt.

When storms come and mine are outside, they break their necks trying to get to the cage top. it can be 2am, they will awaken and party. they love it. wait in the pitch black outside with them. then lightning occurs, & they appear. It is like a horror movie. it is fun.
