Okay guys so Im having a little bit of a bug issue on my outdoor enclosures hibiscus tree... I have notice a ton of little newly hatched green bugs?! I just started to notice them so Im assuming they have just started hatching or whatever... I am skeptical on putting RANGO out there til I know if it is safe for him or not? he had them all over him the other day when I went to bring him in and that was the first time I noticed them!! is there a spray or something I can safely kill them with or should RANGO be fine with them on the plant?
He loves the flowers on the tree and eats them every chance he gets!!!:rolleyes:

they are tiny and green, like ant size... the eggs are also green and all over the flower pods of the hibiscus... I bought it from home depot and did a really good wash on it before I put it in hs enclosure a few months back... there were no eggs or bugs on it when I put it in there... we have a ton of june beetles around our house as well as the long green flying ant looking bugs... their body shape is more roundish... I want say maybe a cadydid but I havent noticed any cadys around here really...

Anyone have any sugestions??

are aphids okay for him to be around or ingest?
I googled aphids and thats them I believe...

HOW DANGEROUS ARE THESE LIL BUGS AND EGGS THAT ARE ON MY OUTDOOR TREE FOR MY VEILED "RANGO"? and....do I just re-wash the tree with soapy water and rinse well?

Thanks to all that answers!:D

If it's what I think it is, it sounds like a cinch bug. Not sure if they're harmful for the chameleon, but once you get them on a plant it's pretty much done for. The best course to try to save the plant would be cut off any and all parts of the plant that have the little white dots on it. They spread like wildfire so make sure you get them all. Used to have a landscaping service, and these things are like a plague to bushes.

maybe get some lady bugs on that plant i heard ladybugs eat aphids just make sure your chameleon doesnt eat them i heard their toxic

Lady bugs are toxic for a chameleon. I wouldn't take the chance of my cham becoming ill to save an already dead plant.

Thanks for the replies... they are in fact aphids so I will have my kids go on a hunt for lady bugs in the morning and throw some in there, as for RANGO he will be stuck inside til they are at least under control =)
