Sad news, next time

Unfortunately, my baby girl I got from the pet store pasted away a few weeks ago. I am very sad and disappointed with myself really. :( I feel like I did everything right and I thank the many members on here for help. I have grown to adore these beautiful reptiles in the short amount of time. I was thinking about selling everything off but a stop at local pet store yesterday changed my mind. So I am going to wait a little while after the holidays and find a new chameleon. I am not sure what to get and I was hoping for something a little older than 2 months this time. Also, I would love to go with a breeder who starts everything out right. I am very interested in FLCHAMS and treecandychameleons. I have also been looking through the classifieds. Any suggests? I like the idea of panthers but I am also interested in Jackson. Tree Candy is very near me so it would be nice to get something closer without unnecessary shipping. Please let me know what you think.

Most usually shipping is not an issue with chams.

However, with the cold weather setting in, it might be impossible for people to ship.

Many of our site sponsors and even forum users are great breeders with plenty of knowledge on chams.

A responsibly breeder will never sell a chameleon before 3 months old, or longer if necessary.

I once waited on a female cham I had already paid for, for almost 4 months because of the cold weather.

Take your time, do your research, and you'll know where to go.

IF you have specific questions on the quality of a breeder or a website seller, please see the BOI classifieds as the forum is not set up to review such things.

If you find a post in the classifieds, you can PM that person and ask any questions you want.

Good luck!

Thank you, That's what I thought! Too cold for me to go outside! That's why I was thinking something closer. Yes, I will continue to look through the classifieds. Thanks again for your help.

I'm so sorry you lost your girl. :(

I purchased my Jackson from FLChams, and he's doing fantastic. It was a great experience. Mike was great to deal with, and even held my guy until I had his setup ready.

I purchased my Sambava Panther from a member, here, and that was a fabulous experience, too. He's healthy and beautiful, and obviously well kept.

Both times they were shipped, and I didn't have any issues. Both sellers were helpful, friendly and informative. I think it's a lot easier when you start out with a healthy animal from someone that has been providing optimal care. I would recommend either one to anyone looking for a cham.
