Hi all,

Thanks for reading just wondered what you thoughts were beofre i take her to the Vet at 7.30.....

I have an eight month old female Panther she is normally fit and well her temp is 90oC day and 70 at night. Her cage is 5 foot tall by two foot wide and deep. She has a three foot UVB 5.0% bar. ahe is misted 5 times a day and has an automatic humidity valve keeping the humidity between 70 and 80%.

She has shown Gravid colouration for around a week now (not bred as too young) and has gone off her food. (although she is eating around one super a day) Her urates are alightly orange, but her eyes are fine and she is able to climb plus i have seen her dinking daily via her waterfall, so i dont see this an issue with hydration.

For the past two days her fecaes have been really runny with like jelly around it......

Any ideas? Parasite?

Thanks

Get rid of the waterfall, they can build up a lot of bacteria. If her urates are orange and her eyes aren't sunken in she still is dehydrated. Give her a nice warm 30 minute shower. Do the humidity levels stay that high all the time? That's about how high it should be after each misting and go down to about 60% when it's dry. If she's gravid make sure you have a layin bin in her enclosure so she can lay. Give her a lot of privacy as well.

yea thompson said wat i was gunna say get rifd of the water fall. the water will buld up a lot of bacteria. And on top of that they smetimes will tend to poop in the waterfall beacause of the moving water and then that just gets cycled trough again and again so it is bad for you chameleon.

Hi guys thanks for the info she has been to the vet and as i thought shes not dehydrated neither is she parasitic the vet seems to think it maybe just her diet. As in too much super!!! Lol

Thanks again!!

Yea Ive been told the jelly like film over the poop could be caused by a LITTLE too much over supplementing.
Because I had the same thing with pedro so i cut back on supplementing and it cleared up with the next couple days
