"river" rocks..? What kinds of rocks would be okay/ not okay to use to cover the soil of my plant in Tanzy's house. Obviously they must be large enough to not be eaten and clean. I live by the beach would rocks collected down there have too much salt or something?

Things we worry about items collected from the "wild" is that they can possibly carry baceria that can harm your cham. If you collect wood it is recommended you bake it and with rocks i'm sure you can boil them to get rid of the baceria and such. You just never know what has been on or around the item out there. I would just make sure to wash and disinfect very well.:) I just get my river rocks from Dollar Tree and boil them.

If you are collecting rocks from the seashore you will want to rinse them several times in a bucket of water over night. Stone is porus and will have absorbed the salt to some extent. This salt will leach back out and possibly kill your plants if that is where you are using them. Better advice would be to collect the stones inland but still rinse them a few times. Some people even boil their rocks to disenfect them too.
